23 August was an extra special day since we had a 40th anniversary to celebrate: for Preben!
In his speech to Preben, our Managing Director, Thomas Rohde, began with the following: “I was only 8 years old when you began at Priess, Preben, and it’s truly MEGA IMPRESSIVE”.
Preben has had a remarkable journey, starting in the poultry industry, moving to a furniture factory in Handbjerg, serving as a DRAGON in the military in Karup and then moving to forestry work.
During the tough economic times of the 1980s, during the so-called ‘potato cure’, Preben found his way to Priess – and we’re very happy he stayed with us! The exact date he started with us was 20 August 1984, and he has had a huge impact here ever since.
There’s a funny tale here, that after 25 years at Priess, you get a nice watch, and after 40 years, you receive a colour TV. “So, Preben, is it true that you haven’t had a colour TV until now?” Thomas asks interestedly during his speech.
Over the years, Preben has been involved in nearly all aspects of the business, from packing wind turbines for shipment to the US, setting up masts at Kastrup Airport, he has also operated a crane truck for 15 years as well as having driven a truck for 25 years. He has overcome many challenges and his positive attitude has always shone through.
Preben, you said it yourself: “Time flies,” and now 40 years have passed. Thank you for your dedication and your ever-helpful nature. Once again, congratulations on reaching this remarkable milestone, Preben! And all the best for the future!
