Details

The 17 cabins are all clad in wood and painted black. They feature gable roofs and roof mouldings. Roofs are coated in Preotex sand ceiling paint.

Østerild is the first place in the world where wind turbines of a mammoth height can be tested and further developed under optimum weather conditions.

The test centre houses a total of seven test stands and is currently the only site in the world where the wind turbines of tomorrow can be put to the test. Working in collaboration with the wind turbine industry, DTU’s researchers have continued their strong collaboration with the industry which has made Denmark a world leader in the development of new wind turbine technology.

The test centre at Østerild is crucial in enabling the industry to keep up with and develop new knowledge and to secure jobs within the Danish wind turbine sector.
