When Danish retail chain Jysk opted to construct a central warehouse for 270 stores all across the world, the largest warehousing facility in all of Scandinavia was built in Uldum, Denmark.
The central warehouse has a total surface area of 7,800 m² and the building is 40 metres tall. In order to cover its power demands, Priess A/S installed eight 1000 kVA transformers distributed across four stations, with two transformers per station.
The substations are each equipped with two transformer rooms, an MV and an LV room, which are separated by partition walls.
The substations sit on a precast foundation with crawl space from where it is possible to draw cables down.
The large substations were delivered and mounted onto the precast foundation in partnership and collaboration with Krangården Holstebro.
The warehouse was taken into use in mid-2008 and at the end of 2009 operation of the warehouse was optimised.
