Esbjerg Harbour recently saw a need to boost its power capacity in connection with an extension and renovation. This meant building a secondary substation on the harbour pier.
The task was to develop a substation that would not be affected by high tides and flooding. The client – Syd Energi – cast the base foundation themselves while Priess A/S supplied a secondary substation that would fit onto their concrete foundation. The foundation was then subsequently polished up so that it was not possible to see the transition between the base foundation and the foundation of the substation.
It was very important that the secondary substation would fit accurately over the concrete foundation and thanks to good coordination and collaboration between Syd Energi and Priess A/S, the foundation and the substation ended up fitting perfectly together.
The secondary substation was delivered complete with two low-voltage switchboards.
