Collecting sumps

Priess A/S has developed three types of collecting sumps for secondary substations as it is now a legal requirement for all secondary substations to have a full oil collection solution in place (IEC 62271-202).

Three types of collecting sumps

Steel basins

Our steel basins are made from bent zinc-magnesium sheets which are grouted at all joints. All steel basins can be supplied with a removable end gable so that the transformer can be rolled in. The end gable is bolted and grout is then subsequently applied.

We can supply steel basins to your preferred dimensions. So we will easily be able to accommodate any special requirements you may have in relation to size. If you would like additional corrosion protection, we can mount roofing felt to the underside of the steel vessel.

Concrete foundation

Secondary substations can be supplied with a 350 mm high concrete foundation so that oil collection is integrated into the foundation and can contain 100% oil.

Oil cloth

As an alternative to steel basins and concrete foundations, Priess A/S can supply a cloth for oil collection which can be assembled on site and delivered in parts. This is a solution that our installer can transport by car and assemble on site at the secondary substation. The oil cloth is available in five different sizes ranging from 200 kVA to 1600 kVA.
